Apple Hill Extreme
Projects!
Baja HD 6.6
2005 Chevy Silverado 4 Door Diesel 2500
It all started just a few years ago…Craig came to us and wanted to
lift his truck, give it some extra HP and rim it up. Well after doing
just that in the tune of a 9.5 Full Throttle Suspension, 35 inch Nitto's
and some Moto Metal 951 20s that only satisfied the hunger for a bad ass
truck for a short time. Since then we have transformed it into a true
work of art. The suspension was stretched to a 11.5 and a 3 inch body
lift was added to clear the new 40 Inch Nitto Mud Grapplers on a set of
Jesse James 20 Inch I Beams. We addressed the steering in a few ways by
adding a full PSC Hydo Assist System and HD tie rods by Apple Hill Craig
can turn the wheel effortlessly in any situation. To add the needed
clearance we decided to go desert race look on the body with Glassworks
Unlimited front and rear fenders. From there things got crazy. Craig
came up with a new color and a scheme of stretched faces and evil that
gives you chills as you look into the detail that Frank Bonner has made
come to life with his air brushing. The truck is done in a house of
color Galaxy Grey and coated with a Cobalt Blue candy. The body of the truck was totally torn down for a show
quality finish and details such as the fuel fill was relocated to the
inside of the bed by the tailgate. Custom inner fenders were hand made
to complement the new fiberglass fenders. The frame was stripped and
coated in a durable bed coating and glossy top coat. Next the bumpers
are custom built pre runner style by our own J-Dog here at Apple Hill.
Now on to the performance up grades. We started with an Edge Juice with
attitude added a Triple Dog Down Loader and MBRP dual exhaust. A Green
air filter system and a Banks Intercooler were added to keep the 6.6
cooler. The transmission was pulled and built to handle the extreme
power it now receives. It has a Goerand Bros. triple disc converter, a
trans go valve body kit, and a full set of HD clutches. Some of the
other points of interest are the dual per corner FOX custom painted
remote reservoir shocks, Roll-N-Lock retractable bed cover, AMP Research
foldout side steps, RBP grill, Oasis custom built rear differential
cover and a in dash DVD and Sound System that lets people know you are
coming. Future plans include a custom interior with 4 bucket seats and a
wild custom console.
Stay tuned as the build continues.
This project is a 1989 Jeep Cherokee XJ 4.0
LTR 5 Speed. This Jeep is getting a little more than your average
rebuild. We are starting with the shell and working our way out making
this XJ as durable and reliable as possible. Starting off with a
complete dismantle and total body restoration including new
rockers, fenders and 1 lower quarter panel. We added steel diamond plate
floors that will be coated with Line-X. and have drains so the inside
can be easily hosed out. The drive line consists of a Jasper 4.0 engine,
Jasper AX 15 5 Speed Transmission, 05 Rubicon Transfer Case and Dana 44
Axles. The suspension we chose to use is a 4.5 Rock Krawler Long Arm
System. The exhaust will be a custom high flow by Apple Hill. Bumpers
front and rear are by Hanson Off Road. Keep checking in as the build
progresses we will be adding updated photos.
